The ER has a network of over 4,500 km of railway track and covers the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and parts of Uttar Pradesh. The ER is recruiting apprentices for the year 2023. Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2023 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2023, candidates must:
- Have passed the 10th class examination or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
- Possess a National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant trade issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) or the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT).
- Be between the ages of 15 and 24 years as on the closing date of the application.

Selection Process
The selection process for the Eastern Railway Apprentice Recruitment 2023 will consist of a written test and an interview. The written test will be held on November 19, 2023. The interview will be held for shortlisted candidates only.
The written test will be objective in nature and will consist of questions on the following topics:
- Mathematics
- Science
- General Knowledge
- Trade related questions
The interview will be conducted to assess the candidate’s technical skills, communication skills, and overall personality.
Salary
The selected apprentices will be paid a stipend of INR 15,000 – INR 20,000 per month. After successful completion of the apprenticeship program, the apprentices will be eligible for absorption in the Eastern Railway as regular employees.
